- Members Area FAQ
-

Q: I have just filled out the form to become a member. When will I be granted access?

A: Membership forms are checked and processed at least once a day. You can usually expect it to be processed within 24 hours.

Q: I filled out the membership forum, but I did not get a confirmation email that my application had been received. Why not?

A: 99% percent of the people that this happens to is because you supplied us with an incorrect email address on the members form. Some people mistakenly enter their email address as www.johndoe@aol.com instead of johndoe@aol.com . The other reason you may not get it is because you are using a email filterer like the AOL SPAM FILTER which is poorly designed and will also intercept regular email. You will want to disable any spam filters if this happens to you or you will NOT receive your user name and password confirmation when it is processed.!!

Q: I have received my Members Area password confirmation and I can enter the Members Area ok, but it won't work to post or enter the discussion forum. Why not?

A: You completely read the email you received confirming your Members login right? The one that said READ THIS BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!! It explains in detail that the Members Area and both discussion forums are TOTALLY seperate from each other and your Members Area login won't work in the forums. To use the forums, you simply need to click on the "Register" link there. It's FREE!!

Q: I have received my Members Area password confirmation and I cannot enter. I am denied access, Why?

A: Your user name and password are CASE SENSITIVE. For Example: dog , DOG and Dog are interpreted as different to the server. You need to make sure you are using them EXACTLY as they were sent to you. Another reason seems to affect people using AOL browsers. AOL browsers do not properly support user authentication. For best results, do not use the AOL browser at all and download and use Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator instead. If you are experiencing another problem, you can email us, inclucing your Members user name and the email address that you registered with.

Q: I pulled a boner and despite you telling me to print out and write my passwords down, I did not and have now lost them. What can I do?

A: You can retrieve your lost password here. You will need to enter the email address that you REGISTERED with. The User name and password will be emailed to that address. If you no longer have access to that email address, then you have REALLY pulled a boner and are going to have to email us with all relevant information such as your name, the user name if you know it and the email address that you originally registered with. You can expect a delay as we are going to have to locate and make changes to your account so we can email it out to you.

In order to give the website a better focus, we are phasing out the less popular areas of the site, including the high definition and digital video recorder areas and forums. This will leave the site focused on digital satellite television and satellite radio.
